MICROJET® BASES

Product Information Sheet

Microjet® bases are made to the same fine tolerances and quality as the caps. They are colour coded to indicate the orifice size and are available in sizes of 0.8mm, 1.0mm, 1.3mm, 1.5mm and 2.3mm diameter.

The size of the orifice determines the discharge rate of the base at any given pressure. The colour of the base therefore indicates the size of the orifice and the discharge at a given pressure. All bases and caps are 100% interchangeable. The cap simply clips on to the base to form a complete Microjet®. The Microjet® base is threaded (2BA thread) with a cutaway section for easy insertion into the pipe. It can be screwed directly into polyethylene pipe or into a 4mm Rigid Riser tube or a Microjet® Stake assembly.

The different bases available are listed below :

  CODE   COLOUR     ORIFICE SIZE     DETAILS
  BB 01   Black
    0.8mm
(• 030")
The black base has the smallest orifice diameter available i.e. 0.8mm. It discharges 13.5 litres per hour at 0.5 bar and 30.9 litres per hour at 2.5 bar operating pressure.

The use of this base is not recommended without the use of an efficient filter on the water supply.

  BB 02   Blue     1.0mm
(• 040")
The blue base is the most widely used base and has an orifice of 1.0mm diameter discharging 23 litres per hour at 0.5 bar and 53.7 litres per hour at 2.5 bar operating pressure.

Filtration of the water supply is less critical than with a black base but a 120 mesh screen filter is recommended.

  BB 03   Green     1.3mm
(• 050")
The green base has an orifice diameter of 1.3mm and a discharge rate of 36.3 litres per hour at 0.5 bar and 85 litres per hour at 2.5 bar operating pressure.

A 100 mesh screen filter is recommended to obviate clogging of Microjets fitted with this base.

  BB 04   Red     1.5mm
(• 060")
The red base has an orifice diameter of 1.5mm and a discharge rate of 56.4 litre per hour at 0.5 bar and 125.7 litres per hour at 2.5 bar operating pressure.

This base is ideal for sandy soils which require heavy precipitation. An 80 mesh screen filter will ensure that these jets do not clog.

  BB 05   White     2.3mm
(• 090")
The white base has the largest available orifice the diameter of which is 2.3mm and a discharge rate of 93.0 litres per hour at an operating pressure of 0.5 bar and 219 litres per hour at an operating pressure of 2.5 bar.

The Microjet® white base is used for special applications requiring relatively high precipitation rates.
